The Czech cultural community has joined today’s Global Climate Strike as well. In their speech at the Old Town Square in Prague, the ATI representatives said that arts and culture have the outstanding quality to approach their audiences though productions, exhibitions and performances.

We are happy that the National Theatre in Prague has joined ATI’s call to cultural institutions to support today’s strike and the Shutdown for Climate (National Theatre’s statement and press release are available here), as well as the Olomouc Museum of Art, 8smička – the zone for art, Creative Europe, Department of Theatre Studies, Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University, Department of Arts Management DAMU and Luhovaný Vincent Festival. Jatka78 reacted to the call with a video with the director Štěpán Kubišta and sharing of sustainable features they have already implemented.

Another participant in the strike and Shutdown for Climate was the National Film Archive, which presents the first edition of the film festival Městem - film - festival, on urbanism, transport and their influence on life in the city.
