EEA and Norway Grants

ATI is a partner of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Culture in the preparation and implementation of the Culture Programme, specifically in the area of art and cultural criticism and in the area of strengthening the capacity of sectoral umbrella associations, networks and platforms.

Through the EEA and Norway Grants, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway contribute to reducing economic and social disparities in the European Economic Area (EEA) and strengthening cooperation with the 15 European countries. The countries of Central, Eastern and Southern Europe are the beneficiaries of the financial support. It is the strong emphasis on sharing and exchanging experiences between donors and grantees that is an important aspect that distinguishes these funds from EU funds. In 2017, Memoranda of Understanding were signed for the current, third programming period of the EEA and Norway Grants. Projects in the field of culture have also received support. The Culture Programme supported the revitalisation of the Czech cultural heritage and cultural and creative activities supporting regional development and social inclusion with more than CZK 800 million. Between 2019 and 2022, at least 6 open calls were announced and approximately 100 cultural projects were supported, implemented until April 2024.

All information about the programme can be found at:

The main coordinator of the EEA and Norway Grants is the Ministry of Finance, which administers most of the programmes in cooperation with the relevant ministries and institutions.
