GreenCult is a project aimed at strengthening green knowledge and skills among cultural professionals, with a particular focus on leaders of cultural centres in the Czech Republic and Slovenia. The main objective is to develop a simple, practical and transferable model that will help cultural organisations systematically introduce sustainable practices – from strategic planning to everyday operations.
The project builds on the understanding that culture has significant potential to raise awareness of climate change. However, sustainability approaches in cultural policies are often still insufficiently developed, while existing tools can be difficult to navigate, less accessible in local languages or not sufficiently tailored to the real-life needs of cultural institutions. GreenCult addresses this gap through targeted training and practical resources.
Within the project, we will deliver three pilot workshops (in the Czech Republic, in Slovenia and an international online workshop) and develop a handbook with audiovisual and written materials in Czech and Slovene on how to integrate green measures into projects and organisational practices.
The target group consists of leaders of Czech and Slovenian cultural centres (approximately 20–25 participants), who will transfer the knowledge and approaches to their own contexts. Indirectly, the project also addresses the wider cultural sector in both countries.
