Martin J. Švejda was a theatre historian and critic. Since 2008 he worked at the ATI as a research and development worker performing long-term research in theatre history focused on 20th century Czech theatre. He participated in the project of Czech Theatre Encyclopedia – 20th Century Czech Theatre as the author of the dictionary entries. As an author of monographs or essays (published mostly in Theatre Revue magazine), he was interested in the topic of Czech theatre after 1945. He publisheed his reviews in World and Theatre, Theatre Newspapers, and Lidové noviny. He co-founded the theatre internet portal Nadivadlo and is still associated with it.
