SHOWOFF

To show off is to boast about one’s achievements or display oneself to best advantage. ShowOff is a podcast by the Arts and Theatre Institute that addresses the performing arts’ sensitivity and response to current professional and social issues. In each episode, we show off a hot topic of discussion amongst performing arts professionals and work to highlight emerging trends. Our main topic is the adaptation of theatre, dance and contemporary circus to the (post)covid era, but this issue is closely related to questions about the sustainability of the performing arts and the quality of life in today's civilisation. Even as we call for a return to “normal”, it is far from clear just how that normal is going to look. Each episode is an audio-essay inspired by the international discussion series "The Show Must Go ON/OFF Line" with guests and moderators from the ranks of dance and theatre artists, curators, cultural managers and researchers from the Czech Republic and abroad. Supported by the International Visegrad Fund and by Creative Europe programme.

PQ Podcast Series: CANON of Technical Theatre History

PQ is launching an exclusive series of podcasts with the representatives of the project CANON of Technical Theatre History. Until the end of the year, we will be releasing interviews weekly about technical theatre, disciplines like lighting and sound design, stage safety, or interdisciplinary approaches.

Each episode is an introduction to a certain artistic area, which is the closest to the particular person. These interviews were recorded in person, partly in Stockholm, Madrid, and Rome, and are a refreshing listen for everyone interested in various creative approaches, technical works, historical fun facts, and how theatre technology is operated, maintained, and used in different countries.

PQ Podcast Series: Global Performance Encounters

The podcast series Global Performance Encounters, produced by Prague Quadrennial, brings discussions with scenographers, directors, theorists, managers and other performing arts thinkers worldwide. The idea of the PQ podcast series raised during spring 2020 as a response to the pandemic that closed us at home. And as such made it impossible to meet our colleagues and friends from the intertwined performance and theatre world. By presenting the human dimension of performing arts in today’s world, the podcast connects your home with creative minds to stay inspired.
