Monography of costume designer Irena Greifová (*1939) is mapping her over forty-year-long theatre and film career. The Expert study deals with the most significant productions which Greifová participated in with directors such as e.g. Jan Grossman, Evžen Sokolovský, Ivan Rajmont or Petr Novotný . Besides working for the National Theatre, Theatre on the Balustrade and the Municipal Theatres of Prague, she also cooperated with many theatres outside the capital of Prague and up to 2008, when she decided to finish her artistic career, she made costumes for almost 300 productions. From the artistic point of view her closest co-operator was scenographer Ivo Žídek. Apart from theatre costumes she also created a wide range of distinctive film costumes (e.g. for Morgiana, Oil Lamps, Night on Karlštejn etc). The Czech-English publication includes an extensive list of her work and a very rich selection of pictures: costume designs, photographs from theatre productions, films and her personal archive.
