The Arts Institute received a grant to conduct in-depth research over the period from 2006 to 2011 – this project has been approved and supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic (DD06P03OUK002).
The focus of the research project is the theoretical and empirical analysis of transformation in the field of art, as well as formulating a definition of the artistic and cultural potential in the Czech Republic as a prerequisite and a primary tool that is to be used in the cultural industry. The project includes the studies of the development of the artistic field from 1989 to the present day, with special emphasis placed on the economic aspects of the transformation of artistic and cultural institutions and networks, the transformation of the structure and in particular the participation of the public and private sources in the field of live arts as well as the function of the legislative framework. In addition to mapping the arts (production, distribution, and presentation) in the Czech Republic, the project will focus on the research and creation of tools that will follow and define the multiple effects of the arts as a significant, economic factor of the defending development of society. Admission to the project will be assisted by the competent approach towards innovation and formulation of cultural politics.
