The publication Creative Industries – Opportunity for New Economy by Martin Cikánek is sorted into four chapters. The book describes the genesis of the cultural and creative industries since WWII, elaborates on the terminological definition and presents the vast presence of the phenomenon in cultural policies and economical strategies of developed countries. Furthermore, the study includes analysis of the relation between the creative industries and non-commercial arts supported by the public budgets. Among others, the publication shows one of the possible ways out of the worldwide economical crisis.
